Highland Cattle have long horns and long wavy coats that are coloured black, brindle, red, yellow, white, and silver. They are a hardy breed due to their native environment, the Highlands of Scotland. This results in long hair, giving the breed its ability to overwinter. They have an unusual double coat of hair. On the outside is the oily outer hair - the longest of any cattle breed - covering a downy undercoat.
Bulls can weigh up to 1,800 and cows up to 1,100 pounds. Their milk generally has a very high butterfat content.

In winter a wild yak can survive temperatures as low as - 40 degrees (C). A wild yak doesn't reach its full size until six to eight years of age. Amongst yaks living in the wild, births usually occur in June and a single calf is born every other year. Wikipedia

Yaks are highly appreciated because of their fur, fatty milk, meat and dung (which is used as a fuel. Yaks are divided into two species: domestic and wild. Domestic yak are smaller, have a less shaggy coat, and probably originated from wild Tibetan yak. Domestic yak are used for travel and as draft animals.
