Majors Estate's Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On November, the 17th Majors Estate along with the Haywood and Asheville Chambers hosted our official Ribbon Cutting Event along with the opportunity to meet the owner Tim Majors.

Majors Estate has been referred to as the ‘New Jewel of Haywood County.’ The endeavor to develop this beautiful piece of property started in 2009 and is still currently a work in progress. Mr. The Major's vision for this property is to see it become a destination location that can be utilized by not only couples searching for that hidden gem to say ‘I Do’ but also as a retreat venue that many groups and individuals alike can host a variety of events here in the Great Smoky Mountains.

The support and love for this new venue became evident when over 100 guests came out from both Haywood and Buncombe County to cut the ribbon and welcome this ‘new jewel’ to the list of extraordinary venues in our region.

We began our festivities around 4:00 PM at the Gazebo which is situated across from the Chapel on the property. The hour long cocktail party was a huge success with individuals taking time to view the Chapel while others enjoyed a beer or a glass of wine mingling with old and new friends alike.

Then we began to make our way to Bar America, some of our guests took a short ride in the Estate’s Limo, while others took advantage of a beautiful walk along the Pigeon River up to the Bar. Bar America was a huge success among our esteemed guests and within 30 minutes of leaving the Gazebo all three floors of this unique venue flowed with conversation, good food and wine, and the smooth jazz sound of one of the Estates favorite musicians James Hammel and friends.

The Ribbon Cutting took place on the outdoor patio of Bar America overlooking the Pigeon River. As the sun set in the horizon, Mr. Majors along with his staff and the staff members representing both Chambers cut the ribbon and we celebrated into the night the official Grand Opening of this beautiful Estate.

We would like to say ‘thank you’ for coming out and supporting this event. We would also like to recognize the vendors that assisted us in making this a great night. First, a special thank you to Nettie’s Bakery who designed and made the beautiful Peacock Cupcake display which was a huge hit not only with Mr. Majors who loves Peacocks but with all our guests who love cake.

We would also like to thank Kanini’s Catering in Waynesville, N.C., the food was wonderful and we hope to pass your information on too many clients in the future. Of course, we would like to thank James Hammel for his amazing music - you can locate him on the web at - he is available for bookings and enjoys playing for a wide variety of events.

Lastly, as the Events Manager I would like to thank the Property Managers and all the Estate staff as well as our Marketing Manager and Chamber staff who assisted me in the planning and executing of this special event. I would also like to thank Mr. Majors for bringing this beautiful Estate to our community. It is my hope that we will become a thriving venue with the ability to offer many vendors in our industry an opportunity to work events on the Estate strengthening our small businesses and bringing more economical growth to our region.
